Our History

Motto: Serving others to serve the Lord!

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

July 7th-15th 2007

This was our fourth year on the reservation and our favorite mission trip so far! We stayed in the great new Teen center volunteer quarters and helped with their midnight basketball. We were able to volunteer in many different aspects, using all the gifts of the team. We were given permission to conduct a VBS and had good attendance and participation. We also volunteered with the kids, helped with the luau, did lots of garden work, painted, constructed a playhouse, cleaned, canned, and organized CRYP's warehouse. We had enough established relationships and respect that we could talk about the Lord!"

During the remainder of the year through the help of our Board we work to educate our Church and Community about the needs of the Lakota on the reservation. We seek support financially through grants and matching funds that can help the Cheyenne River Youth Project and the mission team operate and volunteer each year. The Board also looks for ways to help equip the Lakota people by looking for opportunities that will build a future that sustains their culture and enhances their life.

Jesus Christ is the great lead in this mission organization. Much support comes from the prayers of many wonderful people and congregations. Their encouragement is both greatly appreciated and a blessing.

For 2008, we hope to work more with the teen center and continue to build on the VBS program, and other new ministry opportunities as they arise.
